Call me a cold-blooded afficionado of Realpolitik with a Machiavellian streak, but I say we fan the flames of war and chaos, while moving our law enforcement assets to blockade/secure our borders against the inevitable influx of refugees.

Send no American peackeepers, no food relief, nothing.

Why? Because a ruinous, fratricidal war in Latin America over ideology would, given a sufficient level of ruthlessness, ferocity, and inhumanity, eventually show the survivors, in no uncertain terms, the folly and idiocy of adhering to aggressive, fanatical ideologies.

It worked with the Japanese and the Germans after WW2, as well as with the French after the Napoleonic Wars, and it will work with these so-called "Bolivarians" when their cities and farms have been turned to ashes.
