No, being silent is the worst that the GOP can do. They should come out with guns and arrows. Why should we let a minority and discredited party do this to Dr. Rice? No, they should fight fire with fire. Bill Frist has no backbone, he should be removed from Majority Leader; Mitch McConnell or Richard Shelby should take over. We need a bomb thrower like Newt Gingrich to put Boxer, Kerry, and even Bayh in their place. They are doing the same thing to Alberto Gonzalez. Bush should also raise his voice; he needs to do something to protect his nominees otherwise why would anyone risk being insulted by the Dems. ENough is enough!
I agree that there should be a more aggressive response. I think it's the theory of giving the Dems enough rope to hang themselves, but there's no reason that Bush's nominees should be put through such pointless torture letting the Dems get to that point.
Their performance with Condoleeza Rice was a disgrace to the United States of America.
His tone was calm, saddened, and pointed out the absolute hypocrisy of those suggesting Dr. Rice was untruthful.
He was truly the conscience of the Senate in every sense of the word.

I am disgusted with the GOP's silence. Just as during the campaigning last year and the mud was flying against Pres Bush, they stayed hunkered down. I want Boxer's words of the last 8 years thrown back in her face. One line of reasoning is that if the Republicans attack these pigs who are spewing their vile @ Dr Rice is that it might serve to unite the demos and we supposedly need a few of them.(another run-on sentence) Never mind that Boxer and Dayton were certifiably nuts even before this.
