A reputed ringleader of a group of men that robbed 18 neighborhood bars in the Twin Cities has been convicted and faces 18 mandatory life sentences.
Carlos Lattrell McAdory, 28, of St. Paul, was found guilty Thursday of 21 federal crimes by a jury in St. Paul following a six-day trial before U.S. District Judge Joan Ericksen. No date has been set for McAdory's sentencing.
McAdory was convicted of nine counts of robbery affecting interstate commerce, nine counts of possessing a gun in the furtherance of a violent crime, two counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon and a conspiracy charge.
Because he has three previous convictions in Ramsey County for aggravated assault with a gun, McAdory is subject to a federal law requiring mandatory life sentences for the federal robbery and gun possession during violent crime offenses, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Wilton......

McAdory's case is believed to be the first prosecution in Minnesota in which the federal "three strikes" mandatory life sentencing law for violent offenders has been used, Wilton said.
The feds caught up with him. Well, it's not like Minnesota just lost a prime citizen.
