I find it hard to believe an American would have used the word "trifling" but maybe I'm wrong.



Etymology: from Old French trufer, trufler to mock, trick

Sounds fishy! It maybe true, but I think a man at his level would use the proper channels to get this issue resolved. This was printed in Telegraph (UK). It wouldn’t surprise me if a European wrote this in order to shape U.S. opinion.
