Mexico, U.S. settle spat on border warnings

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- The United States and Mexico sought to defuse their spat over a U.S. alert about drug-gang violence along the border, issuing a joint statement Saturday in which Washington said its announcement was not meant to keep Americans from traveling south of the border.

Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez and U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza met over breakfast, the joint statement said, to review actions taken by the Mexican government to combat organized crime in northern Mexico, where a surge in killings and kidnappings has been linked to battles between drug gangs.

Garza, the statement said, insisted that the State Department announcement did not recommend that Americans avoid traveling to Mexico, but only that they take precautions in specific areas.

President Vicente Fox intervened in the diplomatic flap on Friday, saying violence near the border did not threaten the two nations' strong relationship.

Of course not. Not even Mexican police shooting at our border agents. We're just the big, dumb U.S. of A. We will support anybody and everybody since money grows on trees around here.

Heck, you can even fly a couple airliners into a densely populated building and kill 3000 people and we'll still bring your friends and relatives over. You see, it's in our genes. We're too stupid to say no.

"Mexico, U.S. settle spat on border warnings"

The title is misleading. Perhaps a few of the Globalist Eites on both sides went out to dinner and slapped each other on the back, winking about this little dustup but IMO this matter is far from over despite these Good Ole Boy deceptions.

I don't know what power Fox has over some in our government, but it's shocking how quick we snap-to when objections are raised with regard to our policies.

I think Fox perhaps holds the secret recipe of the Bush family pico sauce.

Classic international legalese. When one can't reach a substantive agreement, a carefully worded statement of fluff that both parties can tolerate is issued so that the meeting is portrayed as a success by the MSM.

Fox agreed to do nothing and flippped us the bird again, making comments about Bush's lack of testacles. The U.S. agreed to permit Fox to continue kicking us around.

Where is Winfield Scott when you REALLY need him????

Does this mean the Bush Administration will be doing something about the Mexican Military escorting drug smugglers five miles inside the US border? I thought not. Just good, honest Mexicans doing the jobs Americans won't do.

Most americans hav elittle need to travel South of the border--if they want to see authentic Mexican peons that is.
To see their people all one need do is see America first.
And there- in any city -on any farm,in any hotel spanish speaking brown skinned people who play Mexican music in the
hotel laundry rooms, who helpfully give directions in their
native tongue can be found . A force so large our laws have been changed to accomodate them businesses now give their advice in Spanish and English- soon our politicians will campaign exclusively in Spanish-es verdad that happened
in 2004 .Welcome then to LA Familia De los Mexicanos del
Norte Cavrone.
