wonder how long it will take before someone on the Left such as the ACLU or some other liberal group comes to the aid of this guy?

Assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer... Okay I would think 7 1/2 in prison. 5 years probation. The DA will want to make a hard example regardless of the courts.

If I was a cop I would pack my own lunch.

Just remember the kind of people who work in those fast food chains. You will stop frequenting them.

Heh, I probably would too. But this does help to explain why I see so many cops buying convenience store prepackaged sandwiches.

Assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer...

And why is this worse being done to a police officer than if it were done to anyone else? It shouldn't matter who it was done to. The creep should be put away for a VERY long time.

usually assualt on a peace officer holds special circumstances and should be considered a worst crime. Not diminishing that having it done on a child is not significant. I am speaking on the view of the courts.

We eat out quite a bit, at fast food places and others. Intellectually, I know it probably isn't such a great thing to do, but practically, I am so burned out on cooking that we just keep on doing it. We still eat at home most of the time, but when we're on the road working away from home, that 30 or 45 min. stop in the middle of a very long day on the road really helps to refresh. We have packed a little lunch in nice weather, but it is usually either too cold or too hot for stopping at picnic areas and sitting in the car is just too monotonous and not very refreshing.

Yes you said this, but why should that be the case? Would you feel better if the judge took it easy on this creep because it was a relative of yours rather than a cop who was injured. After all the injury is the same.

have no fricking idea what you are talking about, How you can infir that from my statement is beyond me. If someone ask you " how is your day?" Do you immediately accuse them of invading your privacy? Take a hike

If it were a few small pieces of glass, he might swallow some before realizing it, particularly eating in a hurry and not chewing...just my assessment, not impugning the officer.

I am right with you on that. It is convenient, less expensive, etc. I try to go to the places you can see into the kitchen. Less chance of monkey-business.

Before you complain about this any further, perhaps you should check out the state laws in question and compare the generic version with the "police officer" version of the charged offense. If anything other than the title of the offense is substantively different (i.e.: mandatory minimum sentence, etc.), then come back and give us the details.

Ah yes another polite freeper. My point was that the nature of the crime should not be dependent on the status of the victim. However, since you can't seem to politely discuss this to hell with you
