I didn't realize it did... When did it mae that turn ?

Did you not say: " I agree, I was simply making the point that IF the Koran was inspired by God, muhammad's motives don't come into play at all."?

.. but to answer you point, I dont have a yardstick for it

Then why should I bother to show you anything seeing as you wouldn't recognize it anyway?

I will give you a hint though. If a communication is truly of divine origin, it should be able to tell you something only the deity would know if the deity expects it to be regarded as authoritative.

... and I asked you for references from the Koran to back up the saaertions of others that you appear to agree with, and you point me the opinions of still other people in their books.

And I already asserted the premise of that request is flawed. If you have a problem with the scholarship of any of the authors I've cited, let's hear it.

Are you one of those types that doesn't believe we landed on the moon?

"If a communication is truly of divine origin, it should be able to tell you something only the deity would know if the deity expects it to be regarded as authoritative."

LOL - are you talking about something that could not be verified, something like "How many coins are in my pocket?", or like Nostradamus, something that can be interpreted into meaning anything ?

" If you have a problem with the scholarship of any of the authors I've cited, let's hear it."

I have no idea who they are, nor do I care - I wrongly assumed YOU had reasoned opinions on these matters and might be able to support them - It appears I was mistaken.

"And I already asserted the premise of that request is flawed. "

Is that YOUR opinion, or did you read it somewhere ?
