Yes, we have to individually make sure contractors are hiring only legal help. I demanded that of my contractor and told him if they cannot speak and understand English, they cannot work on our land.
Businesses must pay the price of their cheap labor. You know they live somewhere, but when they go to the hospital they cannot speak English and have no SS# or address. Taxpayers get the bill and it's going higher as hospitals are FORCED to close down and WE pay inflated hospitalization costs.
Congress has their heads in dry cleaner bags and haven't taken the stamped warnings!
The contractors make an extra 100,000 in their pockets per year(small contractors, that is).
We have had 5 major hospitals in LA County close just in the past year.....all due to illegals.
It's actually wise to verify that your contractor is licensed and bonded --- and don't forget to ask to see the insurance policy -- workman's comp carried on his employees. A work place injury -- falling off your roof could get you a lawsuit from someone who isn't covered.
