Iraq Group Says Holds U.S. Soldier - Web (GI Joe doll?)

DUBAI (Reuters) - A little-known Iraqi insurgent group said on Tuesday it was holding a U.S. soldier and threatened to kill him within 72 hours if Iraqi prisoners were not released, according to an Internet statement.

"Our mujahideen ... have managed to capture the American soldier John Adam after killing a number of his colleagues," said the Mujahideen Squadrons in the undated statement.

It carried a picture appearing to show a U.S. soldier sitting in front of a black banner with a rifle pointed at his head. The authenticity of the claim, which did not say where the man was seized, could not be verified.

"We will cut his throat in 72 hours if our male and female prisoners in the occupation jails are not released," it said.

A group using the same name, Mujahideen Squadrons, last month claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of a Brazilian engineer in Iraq (news - web sites).

Insurgents in Iraq, including al Qaeda's wing in Iraq, have been waging attacks on U.S.-led forces since they invaded the country in 2003.

Doesn't look good. Supposedly the website has a picture of the soldier with a rifle to his head.

Retrun Message from US;

Give us the names of those you want released, then if our soldier is not returned unharmed in 24 hours we start full fledged executions. Deal?

Works for me. Get the soldier back and follow those subcutaneous homing signals that were planted in the terrorists.

Why dont we place tracking devices on the prisoners and just track them back to their hole and kill them?

As long as they have to wear a thong on their head during installation.

I hope it isnt true, but the name sounds like they had a choice between smith and adam and took adam instead.

Terriffic suggestion. Even with no names, make clear for every soilder killed we publicy execute 10 prisoners, preferably beheadings! Until we start playing truly tough, we have no hope of eradicating terrorism.

Is this a reputable site, or is it a jihad propaganda site where they lie to bolster support for their cause?

If it is true, prayers for the soldier and his loved ones!!

I guess I'm the only one here with a working B.S. detector.

"Our mujahadeen heroes of Iraq's Jihadi Battalion were able to capture American military man John Adam after killing a number of his comrades and capturing the rest," said the statement, signed by the "Mujahedeen Brigades."

This is from

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050201/D87VRVG00.html

It doesn't ring true based upon the above quote. That means they have more than one; I bet they're playacting.

I hope this isn't true and I have doubts. All it says is there's a picture (still picture apparently) of someone in a "desert uniform". That could be an Iraqi soldier or someone dressed in one of their uniforms. They don't say whether the person is blindfolded (presumably) so you probably can't tell from the face whether he's American.

Also the name "John Adam" seems just a little too simple and contrived.

Crossing fingers this isn't true.

We should implant little chips that we could track in US soldiers and civilians in Iraq that would lead us right to these monsters.

Also, the propaganda website "Jihad Unspun" is always carrying claims to have captured dozens of U.S. soldiers, particularly during the Fallujah battles. My guess is, after their Election Day defeat, the terrorists felt like they had to manufacture some quick "proof" for all these claims.

If the hajis behead a US soldier, I say take groups of four haji prisoners up 150 feet in a Blackhawk, above Ramadi or Fallujah, for example. Push one out, then another, then start asking questions of the other two about zarqueeri and the others of his ilk. I think the muslim cowards will be tripping over their tongues singing. Then, push the last two out...repeat as necessary until zarqueeri is located, interrogated, and killed publicly and humiliatingly, for example stoning by Iraqi women whose sons and husbands he murdered.

I can't believe that anyone here is even taking this seriously.

Hopefully, no Nigerian doctors with cash they need to get out of the country have your email addresses.

Rather than implant, just let them have a pill they can swallow?
