DENVER A panel discussion at Hamilton College (search) in New York featuring a Colorado professor was canceled after hundreds of death threats poured in because of an inflammatory essay he wrote comparing some of the Sept. 11 victims to Nazis and calling President Bush a terrorist.
Hamilton has been on heightened security since the paper by Ward Churchill (search), published more than two-and-a-half years ago in the aftermath of the 2001 attacks, resurfaced. College spokesman Michael DeBraggio said multiple death threats were made against both school officials and Churchill, who was to be a guest speaker at the panel discussion.

I finally saw this GOON interviewed on Fox. He should be shot as a traitor.....okay we try him first:)
Oh please. Is this guy's opinion really worth "hundreds of death threats"? after all, he's been there forever.
The university is just covering their asses. The admin staff is tired of answering the phones and the fax machine keeps running out of paper.
I noticed he REALLY needs a haircut!
My sentiments also.
They're trying to kill two birds with one stone here...Get out of having the goon come to their campus after making a total ass out of himself, then blaming it on conservatives
Like a collegue from CU asked: "If he's talking this way in public, what is he teaching his students?" Further tapes showed his minions supporting him at a radio show. They looked like the kind of people I want running this country. Not! But, I'm sure we from the 60's looked that way to our parents and adults of the time. Thank God most of us (FR) turned out to be sane and coherent!
Anybody have an idea of what their fax numbers are?? I have a message I'd like to freeep... 'er send.
My question is how much money were alumni threatening to pull from the college?
Because so many parents have no idea what is being taught on college campuses today, more exposure of these "educators" may lead to a lot of big money being pulled from colleges.
The only way to win the leftist battleground that education has become is to pull the money, from K-12 and higher.
This is just awful! No one should threaten academic freedom just because they don't like what's said!
Oh, yeah....BARF!!!!!!
Howzabout we send this guy to Iraq to meet the bastards he's defending so they can be tolerant while they cut his head off?
How somebody like this can be allowed to teach college students is beyond me.
Keep in mind this is the school that gave CONTINUES to give its football program money while neglecting other things, in a state that just cut higher education funding, and the school is also in a town full of hippie liberals.
The residents of Boulder probably view Churchill as a free-minded individual with every right to say what he did, and while he does have the right, should he be instructing students? Probably not. Sad to say most students wouldn't be smart enough to know he was preaching to them. If he loses his job I'll be surprised.
Go CSU Rams!!! :)
