During one of the discussions about the number of journalists killed in the Iraq War, Eason Jordan (Chief News Executive of CNN) asserted that he knew of 12 journalists who had not only been killed by US troops in Iraq, but they had in fact been targeted. He repeated the assertion a few times, which seemed to win favor in parts of the audience (the anti-US crowd) and cause great strain on others.

He must do it personally to the face of every soldier that he has slandered no matter where they are and at his own expense.
Actually, before Eason even opened his big mouth again, I was thinking about this subject yesterday in terms of the C130 that went down. There was videotape purportedly of that event. And we've seen countless other terrorist propaganda events that are caught on camera or video.
I was thinking that if I were a soldier, I would take the presence of a camera to represent the presence of the enemy in the immediate vicinity of that camera.
They can't have it both ways. They can't say both, "We want to record history in the making, so we'll not reveal ourselves to save our fellow Americans/westerners/etc." AND contend at the same time for some kind of battlefield immunity.
If they want immunity, then they should be embedded with ME, and if they are not they should realize that they are a sign the enemy is near, AND that they are not on my side, but are complicit with the enemy's propaganda campaign.
That makes them FAIR GAME for targetting.
I like to fly low too, but the lowest I every flew was with an Army OH-58 pilot. We went ripping down a creek in South Texas and the RADALT never got into double digits.

The dude goes to an international forum in Europe and makes unsubstantiated charges about U.S. soldiers killing journalists? What an idiot! Is he going to make a retraction?
He should be fired. Outrageous stuff.

If it's true, then Eason Jordan (and CNN) have knowledge of criminal activity and have actively participated in a cover-up. In which case, he should be fired.
If it's false, then Eason Jordan made an unsupported and irresponsible claim designed to defame the American armed forces in time of war...and he should be fired. And, perhaps, prosecuted.
Which is it? Inquiring minds want to know.
If I was in Iraq and I saw this guy, I would pistol whip him at a minimum.
Here is a real unusual twist to this story, Barney Frank (D, MA) actually made this dispicable Eason character backpedal. Not my favorite guy by a long shot, but he did the right thing at this moment....

According to Friday's Wall Street Journal Political Diary (available by subscription), Eason Jordan, Chief News Executive at CNN, implied that the American military was deliberately killing journalists in Iraq. He even "offered the story of an Al-Jazeera journalist who had been 'tortured for weeks' at Abu Ghraib, made to eat his shoes, and called "Al Jazeera boy" by his American captors."
And then, this liberal Democrat pressed Mr. Jordan to be more specific, putting the CNN Executive on the spot. The newsman rambled on a bit and mumbled some sort of response about how "'There are people who believe there are people in the military who have it out' for journalists." He could provide no evidence to buttress his claims, then "offered another anecdote: A reporter who'd been standing in a long line to get through a checkpoint at Baghdad's Green Zone had been turned back by the GI on duty. Apparently the soldier had been displeased with the reporter's dispatches, and sent him to the back of the line."
Had Mr. Frank not challenged him, the global elites there might have taken Jordan's words at face value, convinced that Americans were indiscriminately targeting journalists. Thanks to Barney Frank, world leaders assembled in Davos learned that there was no substance to such claims.
Good job, Barney Frank.

Just for any MSM morons lurking - POC means "point of contact", not something sinister. Should go without saying, but after the AP got hoaxed by GI Joe, you never know.
This is bigger than the Dan Rather forged documents story. The president of the most recognized American news network in the world accusing the US military of targeting and killing journalists. This is either bigger than Abu Ghraib (if he can offer proof), or he should be tried for offering comfort to the enemy (by giving them great propaganda tools) and at the very least fired from his job.
