Safety of New Jersey Schools

We currently live in lovely NJ. In my daughters backpack was a memo concerning safety and policies of her school. In January of 2005 an announcement was made that the New Jersey State Police will visit every site in New Jersey by September 2005. Their goal is to assess safety issues with the superintendents and offer insight where needed.

If you have a children in the New Jersey schools are you aware of this?

Is this standard procedure or something new?

In my gut I feel that this is an anti-terrorism thing. I don't know where you live in Jersey, but Jersey City is about to be re-named Jihad City, if you get my drift.

I'll ask around at work and see if any of our gals/guys got this info too.

No, we "homeschool" her in the summer but during the school year she goes to a private Christian school. There was a memo in her backback directed to parents on safety.
I believe homeschooling is the ideal but for an only child I don't think that's good and why we don't do that year round.

So, the state police are visiting New Jersey public schools. No surprise. They probably have arrest warrents in hand. Rumor has it that Big Brother is looking for the Father, Jesus, and of course, the Holy Ghost, too, on charges of trespass.

I'm a little suspect of the hype of the school safety evaluations though.

NJ didn't get the amount of money they wanted in federal anti terrorism aid. They didn't get the amount they wanted because they are suppose to clean up their creative accounting issues before they can qualify for more aid.

Now, in a radio interview on NJ 101.5, Cody was talking about some new equipment NJ wants to purchase for the schools to make them safer.

They want the money to come from the Feds.

I think this is a creative move to try to get more of the money they were seeking.

Remember how NJ plays with numbers...like the $25,000 expense for a guard dog to patrol the Statue of Liberty.

Police have just decided to start showing up at Private Schools now to "Look around" and see how things are regarding security, etc. Police have time to do this stuff??? This is not what the police should be doing, maybe someone else, but the police?? Weird. No if ands and buts about it... Why not private businesses?? Department Stores, Privately owned grocery stores, restaurants, private homes.....

Have you considered the possibility that YOU may have misunderstood NMH? She has spoken to me about her child's schooling and it was perfectly!!! clear to me that her daughter was in a private school. Maybe you saw her post regarding homeschooling and didn't realize she was defending the idea as a whole but was not personally homeschooling. Why the big mean boggy man threat...my heavens.... are you in your police mode again tonight?

Don't holler at me, Esther. She has been muddy on this issue and scoffed at those who send their children to public schools....indeed, quite insulting.

I am not being mean. I am calling her out on her pretending to homeschool and chastising those of us who do not. Or, worse yet do not send our children to private schools. I've been on at least 6 threads with her where-in she has given all the idea that she homeschools and those who do not are the anti-Christ.

And she is Holier-Than-Thou on more than this issue.

I've exposed nothing. My daughter goes to a private Christian school. I've always stated that. I have always stated that homeschooling is the ideal.

In this situation I am concerned for any child in a pubic or private school in NJ. Believe it or not I like kids and I want them to be safe where ever they attend.

I see homeschooling as the ideal. She loves to learn so in the summer we use Saxon and Abeka but during the formal school year she is in a private Christian school. The same is stated in other threads so there is no "unmasking" going on. LOL!!!
