A lesbian model who shunned the advances of her female boss was awarded £1,000 compensation by an employment tribunal yesterday.
The panel found that Sonya Walker, 26, had been a victim of sexual harassment during a weekend shoot to promote a new lingerie range for the high street store BHS in June 2002.
Becky Hough, the company's photographic manager, had knocked on Miss Walker's hotel room door in Norfolk in the early hours of the morning, saying she was not tired and wanted to chat, the hearing in central London was told.
After interrogating the model about her relationship with another model, Miss Hough lunged at Miss Walker and attempted to kiss her.
Miss Walker said that the harassment continued and included a text message in which the six-feet tall model was invited to a sex shop. But the advances were rejected.
Miss Walker was dropped by BHS three months later, following an incident in which the model's girlfriend interrupted a photoshoot and had to be escorted off the set by security guards.
Miss Walker, of Godalming, Surrey, told the tribunal that her career had been wrecked.
George Foxwell, her lawyer, said: "The applicant's case is that it was implied that if she slept with Miss Hough it would be good for her career. This is a classic case of sexual harassment, someone who is looking for an advantage by using their power and tempting the person with a carrot."
Miss Hough told the tribunal that Miss Walker had at times responded positively to her advances but Christopher Baron, the tribunal chairman, said: "We have found as a fact that the allegations by the claimant that 'the boss' went in to her bedroom early one morning and attempted to kiss her as proved. These advances were unwelcome."
The tribunal also found BHS had, in its treatment of Miss Walker, discriminated against her. It also ordered the clothing store and Miss Hough to pay £1,000 compensation and the store to pay costs.
But it rejected her claim for more damages for injury to feelings and a further claim that the incident had been responsible for the end of her modelling career.

Which reminds me, isn't it a capital offense to post an article like this WITHOUT a picture?

Lesbian sexual harassment. I really thought the employer had this thing licked.... This calls for an SPL (the Salacious Ping List) Ping.
Hahahahaha....very funny!
Kyle: Weak dude, she only likes other lesbians.
Stan: Hey man, if she only likes other lesbians, then all we gotta do is become lesbians too.
Kyle: Hey, yeh.
Cartman: You guys, you know what? My grandma was Dutch-Irish, and my grandpa was lesbian, that makes me quarter-lesbian.
Stan: What the hell are you doing Cartman?
Cartman: My mom said if you want to become a lesbian, you have to lick carpet.
Stan: Really?
Stan: Well, I got a Indiglo Girls CD, the guy at the record store said it was perfect.
Kyle: And I got these killer Birkenstocks.
Cartman: This is a bunch of crap! I've been licking this carpet for three hours, and I still don't feel like a lesbian.
Stan: I can't wait for Ms. Ellen to see what a raging lesbian I am.
Cartman: I'm a bigger lesbian than you.
Stan: No, you're a fatter lesbian than me.
Kyle: Screw you guys, I'm king lesbian.
Hmmmmm. She's a model, yet there are no Google images of her?
Apparently not.

"Hey Hanrahan, your wife eats _ _ _ _ _!"
In my endless pursuit of knowledge, sure :)
She was given only Lstg 1000. I bet that if photography manager was a male, not female, she would be given tenfold or hundredfold amount.
Are you one of those guys who won't die wondering? ;-)
