"Ongoing struggle" sounds so Maoist, so revolutionary.
I'd expect that from the Sensero Luminoso, not a high school teacher in Hudson, Massachusetts.
And how cynical to bring up an "active and informed citizenry" when the teacher himself believes that we live in a democracy (not a republic).
Civic engagement obviously does not include teachers being questioned by students- that results in a half-page article explaining how wrong the students are.

Liberals hate facts but here are a couple: The anti-Bush poster is still up. The website address on the Conservative poster is still censored. The school has not responded to a single charge made by Chris Bowler in any of his articles. And, yes, Howard Zinn's propaganda is used at this school as is Michael Moore's. I was told that 8 teachers are leaving after this year due to the left-wing extremist environment at the school. My gandparents and uncle were educators. They'd be ashamed of what they do inschools today.
