The King had better tred lightly. The only reason Nepal even exists as an independent nation is because of India. Otherwise it would have went down with Tibet and they would all be speaking Chinese.
I think the Chicoms are starting to "flex their muscles." They may take action in Nepal just to see how we would react, then they could gauge what our response might be if they went after Taiwan.
Don't forget it was Jawaharlal Nehru who gifted Tibet to China and it was Jawaharlal Nehru who demanded on a daily basis in 1952 and 53 that China should be made permanent member of UNSC.

Spot on assesment.
<< India probably should be thinking about buying some additional fighter and bomber aircraft and the like. >>
And we shall see to that requirement even notwithstanding that as of Right now India doesn't need any lessons from Pigking's pack of predators and its Tibetan Sovereignty and Buddhist Monk and quietly-demonstrating-child and bound-and-shackled-innocent murdering "pla" on how to deliver itself from that gang or from any other potential threat.
And, as India and our nation move ever closer in terms of defending our individual and mutual interests from all comers, the Peking pack's ability to bluster and intimidate will spiral even further into the realm of hesperophobically-delusional fantasy.
