I have a big problem with being convicted and sentenced for a crime with no proof that I was even at the scene of the crime. City leaders come out with the "it's all for the common good" argument, when all they are worried about is the extra $$$ generated that they can share with their shady developer friends.
Why does the article say that "public safety suffered" a loss? I haven't seen a camera yet that stopped a speeding car or one that ran a red light. The stories about these things taking pictures of cars "clearing the intersection" on a left turn, and departments shortening yellows to make more money are legion.
Redlight running dope dealers and Democrats from the District of Columbia and Maryland make our roads particularly unsafe in Fairfax County.
The only way Morgan Griffith, chairman of that committee, could have arrived at the conclusion that we have to let those people run hoga$$ed wild thorugh our streets without penalty would be if he sold out to the union bosses and liberal pressure groups like NARAL, NEA, and NOW.
May he rot in Hell! And the same for all his liberalcompsymp running dog lackeys and syncophants.
The guvmint is only there to hep you.

Michele B. McQuigg is deeply saddened.
Just another useless RINO getting a clue!
While in the Air Force, we used to run what was called "selective enforcement", that is, traffic radar. The entire difference back then ('80's) was you had to use your judgement, training and experience to first estimate that the operator was in fact speeding an how fast they were traveling. THEN you confirmed your estimate with the RADAR.
The RADAR was and still should be a tool to confirm or deny an officer's observations.
