A Zeeland man has been fined $600 and put on probation for throwing an Egg McMuffin at a McDonald's restaurant manager after he didn't get what he wanted.
Authorities said Scott Rodgers, 46, and his 6-year-old son stopped to get four Egg McMuffins in a Holland McDonald's on Oct. 9, but returned to the service window to complain when he realized at least one of the sandwiches had sausage instead of ham. When the shift manager asked him to give the sandwich back, he threw it through the window at her.
"The manager was picking egg out of her hair," Ottawa County Assistant Prosecutor Craig Bunce said.
"This is the first one in my career of an Egg McMuffin assault."
Rodgers' attorney argued he had given back the sandwich quickly, not thrown it.
Rodgers, 46, was convicted of misdemeanor assault and battery Thursday. In addition to the probation, three days in a work program and fine, he is banned from the McDonald's.
Life is too short to get upset about fast food errors. You'd be upset all of the time.
He should be sentenced to eat Happy Meals for the next six months. I know it's cruel, but that's the only way we can stop these attacks.
Isn't $600 and probation a bit excessive for throwing a sandwich at somebody?
I thought so. next thing you know the worker will be asking for $$ from workers comp. You know, the humiliation of it all.
Guy's lucky he didn't end up in a cell with the Hamburglar.
They ought to make him work three days IN a McDonald's....Now THAT would be punishment.
Now that's funny!
Weapons of Mass Indigestion?
On one hand I can see where throwing a sandwich at some worker at McD is excessive but on the other hand, fining someone $600 is a little excessive. They could have been more creative.

I didn't know Egg McMuffins were so important in Holland.
I don't know. I think when you start throwing things at people you are headed down a course of violence. $600 might wake them up and make them think about what they are doing.
LOL. You guys are making me laugh today. Geeze, I had thought of McD's for supper, but better not
He was obviously egged on. He will be grilled by the police, I'm sure. He's probably just some yolk-le anyway.
LOL...hehehe. Good comeback
I did a search with title and didn't show anything. Sorry
Know what they call an Egg McMuffin in Holland?
What an example for his son. Oh well, now he'll have to explain to his son that he can't get him that boombox or CD player because he has to pay a fine.
..and I thought, this was a "FOOD POLICE" Alert!
