You may not be monitored then, if you're on a communal machine. What they have done is install some type of "smut filter" to eliminate certain words from being posted on such communal machines.

There is a sneaky way around this though. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

All you need to do is insert HTML code into the forbidden word like this:
h </i>ate should produce the word "hate" on screen. You said earlier that this word was filtered out by the "smut filter".

This will work with any other banned word.
Now, if you want to post a banned URL or a photo from a banned URL, that's another trick... but I won't post it here!

Thank you, Bon mots. I'm computer illiterate so I need all the advice I can get :) This is Windows xp pro and there is a device called Cybersitter in here somewhere, plus some controls on the Internet Explorer. However, I thought I'd disabled Cybersitter, and have been running Mozilla Firefox lately. I can't find any smut filter thingy in Firefox.

Incidentally, Cybersitter was installed and configured in this computer by somebody who considered Free Republic a hate site. I couldn't get in here at all until I defeated Cybersitter.

And now it is back from the dead? *groan* I don't remember what I did to it last time, so I'll happily insert the html tags. I just feel like a fool having to work around a filter for the word "hate."
