Great stuff...my dad (closing in on 92) has had glaucoma for over 50 years, and for the past 15 years significant macular degeneration.

Too bad these advances are probably a little late for him.

The market for retina implants to injured or diseased people is very small. The market for such similar implants for those who wish to have their vision augmented with computer or other input is immense. I wish/hope that someone will eventually see things this way.
