Massachusetts: Great State, but How Do You Explain Kennedy and Kerry?
CHRONWATCH.COM ^ | FEBRUARY 8, 2005 | JB WILLIAMS

The people of Massachusetts enjoy a beautiful landscape rich in history, some of our nation’s most prominent universities, and the fourth highest per capita income in the country. Yet they can’t come up with better representatives than John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy. How is this possible?

One, the nation’s most prominent coward, the other called traitor by his band of brothers, our country's two most socialist senators, the two biggest national embarrassments of modern times, and both from Massachusetts. I’m afraid this does not look good for the people who keep electing them…

I suspect that Senator Kennedy has garnered support in return for the sacrifices made by his family, but at what expense? I’m sure that he has been repaid by now. Can’t the old horse be sent to pasture yet? Seriously, he has become our nation’s court jester, ranked right up there with Jerry Springer and Michael Moore.

As for Kerry, well, you would be hard pressed to find a senator with a more lack-luster Senate record anywhere in our history. His name is synonymous with traitor and if he weren’t our nation's most successful gigolo, he’d be nothing at all. Can’t begin to figure this one.

We are talking about a state that produced some of America’s most respected people in history: John Q. Adams, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Robert Treat Paine, William Prescott and Paul Revere. Are you telling me Kerry and Kennedy belong in this company?

Great inventors like Alexander Graham Bell, Elias Howe, Samuel Morse, and Eli Whitney. Great writers like Horatio Alger, e.e. cummings, Emily Dickinson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Edgar Allan Poe, and even noteworthy journalists like Mike Wallace and Barbara Walters, none of whom would be caught dead at a cocktail party with either of these schmucks.

Something is wrong with this picture…Kennedy and Kerry are the best Massachusetts can offer?

Clearly the bluebloods of Boston can’t relate to all us folks in fly-over country these days. They have forsaken their place in history, but have they completely forgotten it?

One would think that the home of the Boston Tea Party would remember the foundational principles of American life and recognize that these two bozos oppose everything the Patriots fought to achieve and preserve not so long ago.

What has happened to New England? Have the great universities of the northeast educated the common sense and decency right out of the local populous?

Surely an area so rich in culture, higher learning, history, and resources can come up with something better than a drunken old coward and a traitorous gigolo? Certainly, New England has more to offer the country than just a good football team?

Seriously, has anyone checked the drinking water in Massachusetts lately? If these two are the pillars of their community, I’m afraid it isn’t much of a community. If Massachusetts residents won’t secede from the union, can’t we at least expel them until they come to their senses?

I've lately wondered if there is any link between the scandals plaguing the Catholic Church in Massachusetts and the fact it tolerates such "Catholics" as Kerry and the Kennedys.

I don't know about Kerry, but it is said that The Ol' Sot "brings home the bacon" for the state of Massachussetts.

It all boils down to money in the end...

Boston won the World Series and the Super Bowl. Aside from that, they haven't done much to speak of in about 200 years.

How about Levin and Stabenau?

Clinton and Schumer?

Boxcutter and Feinstink?

The cancer is rampant.  Too long of a list, throw in the RINO's and you have the only flaw in the Constitution.  The Senate.

Massachusetts is, except for the governor's office, a ONE-PARTY state, in every legislative branch, i.e., at both the state and Federal level.

So, like all one-party government systems, once one attains power, you hold the seat for life.

Kennedy has been in the office since the JFK presidency. Kerry took his seat upon the death of Paul Tsongas. It's only upon death (or voluntary retirement) that these seats are opened.

Pretty much he same holds for every congressional seat.

Now -- isn't that special!

Boston and environs is a great place to visit.

I believe the Bay Staters did too much acid in the sixties. The chromosome damage is being passed on. Their only hope is a new influx of immigrants.

Hello Everyone. I'm from Boston, my family is here and has been for many generations. The elder members of my family seem to think all Kennedys can do no wrong and this has to do with the whole Irish Catholic issue. Boston was once a solid Irish Catholic city - mostly working class. There is still a huge number of us here in Boston. Everyone of my grandparents had nightmare stories about working for the Yankees. Every grandparent had even worse stories they related from their parents. The Kennedy's were for the most part the first Catholics to travel within the Yankee circle, do well financially and even outperform the old Boston Yankee families. These people were overjoyed when JFK was elected. All of this is firmly and proudly remembered and passed down to younger generations.
The Democratic machine in Boston for years was run by the Irish. They handed out jobs and favors at such a rate they damn near bankrupted the city. But the lesson for the Irish and all recent arrivals was that the Democrats provided. While the citizens of my city and state have changed over the years its basily the same system - the Democrats ' provide '. The endless lesson to one and all of the Commonwealth: ' the Democrats are for the people while the Republicans are the evil rich trying to bend you over '.
As for Kerry he always passed himself off as a nice Irish Catholic local boy and Ted Kennedy always assured us he was.

The "Kennedy Curse" is not that young Joe, Jack and Bobby were killed so young, but that Teddy has lived so long.

The amazing thing is that the Catholic myth of Kerry and the Kennedys continues.

They're as much Catholic as I'm Muslim - and, let me assure you, I'm not.

Has to be something in the water. Two hundred years ago (plus a few) they produced patriots. Now, well we all know what they produce now.

You mentioned Kennedy and Kerry, but don't forget... how do you also explain sweetpea left-winger Bawney Fwank from the People's Republic of Massa-two-shits?
