I think I might have read something or saw it on TV that we were doing this in Iraq. Maybe that's the basis. Sorry I can't confirm it with anything but memory, but perhaps another freeper will weigh in on that.

Hold that thought. Weapons buybacks is not the same as a pension, which is what this article is proposing.
No, I've never heard of anything like that. Buying back weapons makes some sense. This does not. We don't owe terrorist a living just because they stop being terrorists. Their reward on that one is that we will allow them to live.

1. Terrorist arrives at their district OFIA (Office For Insurgents' Aid).
2. Friendly Government Agent #1 welcomes terrorist and shows him/her to the registration lounge to fill out his/her application, which is of course needed to receive their pension. FGA #1 may also supply the applicant with a refreshing beverage (such as a Coca-Cola or coffee) while the applicant waits and fills out their paperwork. FGA #1 exits the registration lounge.
3. Friendly Government Agent #2 arrives, introduces self, points out the window and says "look, what's that?" to distract the applicant. Applicant is then shot once in the back of the head by FGA #2.
4. FGA #2 departs, headed to his/her next "appointment," as Friendly Government Agents #3 and #4 arrive. FGAs #3/4 drag the now-neutralized "applicant" out the back door and toss him/her into a large wood chipper that discharges into the adjacent river.
Fabulous! Sounds like the most efficient government program ever!

I can't believe how many people are believing this nonsense. If it were real, why haven't we heard about it yet? It's almost certainly either a mistranslation/exaggeration or an out-and-out lie. There is no way this could have happened without the MSM so much as saying one word about it for the past few days. If it were real, it would have made headlines in every liberal media outlet in the country.
5. Government covers 1st month with a check written to appicant.
6. Tax return due on 15th of following month - assets seized for failure to pay tax.
I want a check for never being a terrorist. Hell, I've never gotten so much as a parking ticket.
