And you should be very worried.

I don't understand your comment. However, I'm sorry Mr. Gannon is "leaving". Anyone besides me recall the "anal probe" by MSM into "Buckhead"? How *dare* Buckhead question ANYTHING. And in Mr. Gannon's case? The Good Ole Boys in the MSM don't like anyone presuming to challenge them on "their" turf. The question as I see it, and from all parties involved (MSM, Bush Admin)? "Do "credentials" matter?

I have decided to return to private life.

Sounds like he thinks he's a star or a politician. And that's the whole problem with journalists today.

MurryMom returns. Tough choice here. I had given up scorn and ridicule for Lent. Please check back in 30 days...

Yes MurryMom.

Enjoy journalism from one perspective. Let them tell you what you want to hear.

They will tell you the night before an election that your candidate will win. Just don't be surprised when he loses big time the next morning.

Let your journalists tell you that elections in Iraq will be full of violence and will fail. Just don't be surprised when they are a huge success with very little violence.

Let your journalists parade fake documents as fact in an attempt to influence an election. Just don't be so surprised when they are clearly shown to be fraudulent.

Your favorite politicians will assign their lovers to positions of importance and public safety without being qualified. Your press will cover them by dismissing it as a personal problem. Your favorite politician will obstruct justice and commit perjury and your press will dismiss it as being a personal issue. Your favorite politicians will belong to white racist groups or black racist groups or anarchist groups and your press will dismiss it as being an issue of the past.

Life is so much more convenient when you get to pretend, right MurryMom?

I'm sorry to hear this.

It's nice to hear from someone with a fresh point of view.

I wish him loads of success in the private sector.

MurryMom, you just lost two Presidential elections, Congress, the Senate, and many dozens of governorships.

Sucks to be you. :o)

"Psuedo"-Journalist?

A journalist is a person who practices journalism.

Many people consider journalist interchangeable with reporter, a person who gathers information and creates a written report, or story.

However, this overlooks many other types of journalists, including columnists, leader writers, photographers, editorial designers, and sub editors (British) or copy editors (American).

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=journal

journal

c.1355, "book of church services," from Anglo-Fr. jurnal "a day," from O.Fr. journal, originally "daily" (adj.), from L.L. diurnalis "daily" (see diurnal). Sense of "daily record of transactions" first recorded 1565; that of "personal diary" is 1610, from a sense found in French. Journalism is 1833 in Eng., likewise from Fr. (where it is attested from 1781).

"Journalism will kill you, but it keeps you alive while you're at it." [Horace Greely]
Journalist "one whose work is to write or edit public journals or newspapers" is from 1693. Journalese "language typical of newspaper articles or headlines" is from 1882.

You're really digging for scraps of "good" news aren't you? How'd that election work out for you?

Are you looking forward to four more years of conservative policies?

On the bright side, Howard Dean will bring the rational balance your side needs to get back on top. All they need to do is win back the White House, the Senate, the House, majority of Governors, undo all the "damage" done by the judges Bush will get through this time and oh yes, a Supreme Court justice or two (or three!)

But they took down one obscure columnist.

Hey, its a good start....

Yes, how dare any journalist take on the liberal media establishment and the Democrats in Congress. Such a horrible act is an unforgivable sin.
