I'm shocked that Moyers was man enough to apologize to Watt. I've never said this before, and probably never will again: "Good job, Bill."
I thought that it was a pretty weak apology. When one apologizes, one does not generally say "Guess I was wrong, but everyone has reported you said that. Besides, I disagree with everything you believe." That's a totally classless statement.
Moyers should have said, "I was wrong. I neglected to properly check a statement which I attributed to you. I owe it to you and to those who heard my speech to be entirely accurate."
