Conservative Reporter Resigns Amid Controversy (NPR joins all-out war on conservative reporters)
NPR - All Things Considered ^ | February 9, 2005 | David Folkenflik

All Things Considered, February 9, 2005 · A reporter for the conservative news site TalonNews.com resigns. The reporter, who went by the pseudonym Jeff Gannon, drew critical attention at President Bush's Jan. 26 press conference when he referred in question to Democrats "who seem to have divorced themselves from reality" on the issue of retooling Social Security.

Liberal bloggers have disclosed that Gannon, who has little previous journalism experience, was easily granted a coveted White House press pass -- even though he did not work for a traditional or established news organization. He also routinely asked "softball" questions at press conferences. There are also allegations that Gannon is linked to Web sites with homoerotic themes.

Gannon spoke with NPR's David Folkenflik the day before he resigned. He says he is open about his conservative point of view, but that he is just as valid a journalist as other reporters in the White House press corps.

So another member of the wildly left-wing media monopoly chimes in with delight at their chance to help the conscienceless Democrat party continue their politics of personal destruction.

What was Jeff Gannon's capital crime, that set the animals in the radically left-wing media and the insane lefty bloggers loose on Jeff?

He asked questions in the White House Press Briefings that were not on their approved list. He dared to ask questions from a conservative perspective. In his questions, he dared to make fun of the leftists who were out of touch with reality.

And because of that, Jeff Gannon is targeted for destruction, professional and personal. Take no prisoners, leave no survivors.

So far NPR, MSNBC (Olberman), the Washington Post (Dana Milbank) and others in the left-wing media have gleefully joined in the rush to report this story, and they gorge themselves on this fresh kill, with the stench of blood oozing from their double-standard spewing mouths.

In their narrow little left-heavy minds, it's OK to go after conservatives, it's OK to dig into their personal lives and report on allegations, it's OK to destroy anyone who does not march in lockstep with "mainstream media." And God help anyone who dares to do similar with their heroes.

Is this OK with us? I don't think so.

Did All Things Considered do a piece on Bill Moyers lies?

Why did Mr. Gannon let the "clymers get to him?

Gannon was the best reporter the White House Press Corps has had in a very very long time. Hope he gets hired quickly by some very savvy news organization.

No one is surprised by this, this is all they have left is to dig into the personal lives of anyone who is not in lockstep with them. It would be a shame if people on the right started doing digging on the reporters on the left. a real shame.

The DLM (defeated liberal media) are fighting for their existence, and it is inevitable that they are going to be absolutely irrelevant in the next few years.

"Liberal bloggers have disclosed that Gannon, who has little previous journalism experience"

Oh, Ho ho ho, they have disclosed have they NPR? I don't think I've heard "All Things Considered" on NPR, since I was in high school, and a friend had a local university radio show. ATC was always on right before his show, and I used to catch a bit of it. I can still hear the dopey music they used, in the 70's.

What's up with Olberman? When he was on ESPN I liked him, but now he is just an ass.

Take note that these are just some of the few lefty imbeciles that are SILENT about Eason Jordan and his outrageous comments that journalists are targeted for assassination by US soldiers.

And what does being gay have to do with him being a journalist?

These lefties don't even realize their blatant hypocrisy.

They jump on a journalist because he's conservative (Gannon) but not on a journalist because he's a fantastical liar (Jordan). They also applaud themselves for their supposed tolerance towards gays, yet "out" a journalist and make it seem like he's a boogeyman.

What idiots.

It's time to petition Congress to end all monetary support of NPR

I can't believe everything I've been reading on here tonight.

From the threads I've read so far, it appears to me that the liberal media has waged all out war on Free Republic??? We know they hate the blogs, for doing the job that MSM doesn't do.........

But this latest liberal attack is low, even for them.

Ah, the posthumous dispensing of the label of "journalist" or "reporter".

<< There are also allegations that Gannon is linked to Web sites with homoerotic themes. >>

"And why not," my neighbor sez?

"I kinda like Homer, meself," he said.

"And Bart, too, come to that.

"And me missus," he went on to say, "does a pretty fine Marge impression."

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

I couldn't add one word to what you said, and you said it so lucidly, I'm repeating it here for emphasis.

Is this OK with us? I don't think so.

I could not have added one word to your excellent post, except to say that I'm sorry that Jeff resigned. I would hope that more of us could help him fight, and fight back. But the politics of personal destruction had probably already done their worst against him and he felt he was left with no credibility and no option other than to resign. I'm sorry that he did, and I wish him nothing but the best.

And .. I believe the other reason they have gone after him so heavily is because Rush has been applauding his questions, especially the one about the liberals "who were out of touch with reality".

Once Rush started making fun of the WH press corp - in concern with Jeff Gannon, the problems started.

I believe his name is Jeff Gannon, I doubt Talon News would be allowed to have a reporter in the White House under an alias
