"What Muslim army (not sponsored by America like Albanians and Turkey) will invade Greece?"

None, if Greece is with them all.

If Islam invades Greece it will be with the aid of NATO. See Bosnia and Kosovo.

Ping. Or "how to find out what's in a Macedonia nut."

Oh...macadamia nut, but that's a different kind of nut.

"If Islam invades Greece it will be with the aid of NATO."

Now that's a likelyhood, except that by then, the USA will be out of the UN altogether, and NATO will be called the EU Army or something like that.

So if the US still had nuclear weapons there, no arabs would come? ...because they would fear that the US would explode the weapon?

Others around here seem to have forgotten the very bloody independence war Greece fought with the Ottoman Empire.

That was much more of a religious war than the current WOT.

Did you not post an article a while back which identified the Greek Military as one of the largest, if not the largest, in Europe? Around the same time I remember seeing a documentary about the size of the Greek Navy because of the thousands of island they have a responsibility to patrol.

I wonder why this is being leaked now. Russia is said to be upgrading their nukes a few weeks back, yesterday the USA is reported as upgrading their nukes, today N.Korea publicly admits they have nukes, and the response is that the USA QUIETLY removed nukes from a mediteranian position? Not exactly the tactical response you would expect.

Largest per capita spender, yes. One of Europe's best armies though not the largest.

Interesting. Peacenicks say something that is secret which the military can neither confirm nor deny, is not there any more. I wonder if these are the same people who said the USSR is not cheating and that Saddam was a big fuzzy teady bear.

"Our sucidal, unilateral disarmament continues unabated."

One of the main goals of the continuing Soviets says Golitsyn. They are doing just what he said they would do (on virtually every level). Either Golitsyn is lucky or we have a huge problem on our hands--TTS

Actually the Greeks disarmed - these 20 nukes were under Greek command.

Looks like the same people to me--notably, linked to the Tides Foundation:

SourceWatch: Natural Resources Defense Council

Natural Resources Defense Council

From SourceWatch

A former project of the Tides Foundation, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) calls itself "the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of more than 1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. Worth Magazine has named NRDC one of America's 100 best charities, and Charity Navigator has given NRDC four stars (out of a possible four)." [1] (http://www.nrdc.org/about)

The Natural Resources Defense Council (formerly a "project" of the Tides Foundation) ...

The NRDC has been vigorously attacked by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a corporate-funded industry front group. CCF calls it "the utility infielder of nanny groups. Because its name implies a wide-ranging universe of issues, the group can be counted on to inject itself into just about any debate where there's an environmental argument to be made. Washington PR firm Fenton Communications has made use of the NRDC in a variety of public campaigns, the most famous example of which was the 1989 Alar-on-apples food scare." [2] (http://www.consumerfreedom.com/activistcash/org_detail.cfm?ORG_ID=19) For the other side of the story see [here (http://www.SourceWatch.org/wiki.phtml?title=NRDC_and_Alar)].

Nope. Just one more step in shoving the US into the 'odd man out' role which the French and German lynch mob put into motion when this President tried to enlist them in the fight against terrorists. It's a psychological victory in the fight for hearts and minds against the policy of terrorist murder.

because......?

These were to have been authorized for use by the Greek airforce by the President of the USA as a last resort as the Warsaw pact started streaming across the border as WW3 started.

What possible reason would exist for Greece to buy about 20 new fighters capable of serving as missile platforms for these nukes now that the Warsaw pact is gone?

Get over your fetish for having weapons just for the sake of having weapons.
