Posted on 02/11/2005 5:04:14 PM PST by Stultis
Organize for Thursday, February 17!
The National Executive Committee of the NLG calls on all Guild chapters to organize and to take part in local actions as part of a "National Day of Outrage" in response to yesterday's Lynne Stewart verdict, which we see as an attack not only on our cherished colleague and fellow NLG member but also on all members of the legal community who represent unpopular clients and causes. We are calling for this coordinated day of action to be held next Thursday, February 17 in your cities, towns, and, if you are a law student, at your school. We are putting together a list of suggested actions to take and will send this out ASAP. Please begin making arrangements and stay tuned for more information.
This will be just one step in our ongoing support for Lynne Stewart and in defense of all of those who take on controversial cases.
Only a day? I'm outraged at liberals all year long.
Dupes? How about the entire campus in Ithaca, NY?
You can pretty much count on every nutjob (who isn't a freeper) at the DU to become outraged
They'd get more participants if they called for "National Cauliflower-flavored Ice Cream Day."
Ping me if you see local organizing sites for this. These folks need to be FReeped.
I work for lawyers and I can guarantee you that nobody in our firm will have the time to bother with this.
That, will bring the number way up.
None at Liberty Law, but Harvard and Yale will surely be out in the streets beating up on the very country that millions of Mexicans will risk their lives to come to.
Cool, Lawyers planning a one day work action....
Now if we could just encourage them to extend this to 365 days we would all be better off....
Oh gee golly..........I'd gladly participate in the ........ummmmm.........what'd they call it now............oh yes........"National Day of Outrage", but I think I have to get my tires rotated or something. Call me with the results and I will join vicariously.
National Lawyers Guild:
LYNNE STEWART =
Terrorist Leader OMAR RAHMAN's Messenger Boy to agressive Terrorists
Chino Hills Slasher KEVIN COOPER's Defensive Linebacker that got his 2004 date with a Death Penalty Execution delayed
The Enemy is now Within...
and always has been.
Wow. Looks like all kinds of nutcases are falling apart now.
One of whom is me, and I call for a national day of celebration.
Expect Ramsey Clark to be part of this freak show, assuming he can break away from his Saddam defense work.
Are you kidding? As soon as the ones who would protest realize there are no billable hours involved, they won't give this a second thought.
Hey I think we need them to make it National DECADE of Outrage - no litigation for them for a decade. That'll show us!
All these lawyers gathering in certain spots(in big groups) to support this traitor.
What was it ol' Wille Shakes said?
"...which we see as an attack not only on our cherished colleague and fellow NLG member but also on all members of the legal community who represent unpopular clients and causes."
She wasn't convicted of having unpopular clients...she was convicted of aiding and abetting terrorists by passing along their inf. to other aleged terrorists. 60 years ago she would have been hung for treason.
I shall be celebrating the guilty verdict with even more glee on February 17th. May she get the maximum time in the slammer. Better to get the garbage off the streets.
Right on! I am not an attorney, but I am the sister of one whom I know would whole heartedly agree with you!
National day of yawning, he means.
Outrage my butt! Celebration!!! If these pampered pompous RDDBs are outraged then they should be next standing in the dock.
Let's have a "National Day of Laz Having A Good Attitude About Menstruation".
They are shocked someone finally was convicted for Treason. means they could be next, if they are aiding and abettig the terrorists.
Sign me up! And while we're at it, what about Broccoli-flavored?

Oh thats so GAY !!
Lynne spouts all kinds of unrelated dialogue in an attempt to confuse the guard who is watching them, and then says she guesses she could win an Academy Award. Videotape catching it all.
Falling off my chair sideways.
Ramsey Clark says he does not think issuing the press release is a great idea since it would break the rules they agreed to. Lynne issues the release anyway. It's so gratifying when evil people are also stupid.
Rolling on the floor.
Ron Kuby says the worst thing you can say about Lynne is that she's a Mets fan.
Now the cat is laughing too.
The Post did a great job on the story. Someone was really paying attention and caught what seems to be the essence of it, with subtlety and craft. Kudos!
It's a personal goal.
I'm beginning to worry about you my friend. I mean, I don't even know if you've got your red wings. Glad it's FRieday tho...
I'm in...I hope Jim Beam and a Swisher Sweet will suffice...
Shark Awareness Day?
Sounds good to me. Where do you want to have it?
..."first the lawyers"?.....Did I win anything?
and always has been.
T'is a thing of beauty , indeed, when the left wraps their own noose and then slides it onto their collective neck.
Way to go, NLG.
Thanks for letting us know whose side you're on. Aiders and abetters of terrorists!
-to eliminate racism;
-to safeguard and strengthen the rights of workers, women, farmers and minority groups, upon whom the welfare of the entire nation depends;
-to maintain and protect our civil rights and liberties in the face of persistent attacks upon them;
-to use the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression.
In other words, from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs, and down with the bourgeois capitalists from which we steal.
"The first thing we do..."
now if we could get all these rats to protest in one place - we're talking basic high target density, waiting to be serviced!
Yeah, like I'm really going to participate in THAT!
I don't even belong to the ABA because it's too liberal! The NLG is off the scales!
so now we have FOMCS, and NTCILT!
I'd support a "day of outrage" against the entire legal profession. Every product we buy and service we use costs a lot more because of the vampire class.
She should be hung for treason along with all those who would defend her. Sorry, but I've had enough of this tolerence for our own traitors while better men and women put their lives on the line for our freedoms.
One of my friends from India tells me from time to time "Don't believe those people. Everybody wants to be an American".
Lynne Stewart has a very long history of being involved
with "hate America" groups and causes. The interesting
thing about the NLG is they don't even plead for an appeal
-- just "outrage" over the verdict. She was duly found
guilty by a jury of her peers -- I suppose these "lawyers"
really want to abolish the 6th Amendment.
Reminds me of my childhood about 50+ years ago when the commie lawyers would rant about this and that. We knew what they were but they were never prosecuted for the traitors that they were. Now, at least, somebody has begun to recognize the danger they pose and fat girl is off to jail.
Checking out the web site reminds one of all the rent-a-mob types found at the various marches. Same people.
President Bush on campaign for reelection likes to tell his audiences that, as Americans, we refuse to live in fear, and of all the tales told by the governments faith healers and gun salesmen, I know of none so cowardly. Where else does the Bush administration ask the people to live except in fear? On what other grounds does it justify its destruction of the nations civil liberties? Why else does the FBI search large scale street demonstrations for anarchists and extremist elements, place under surveillance citizens known to have read the works of Leon Trotsky or the Rubbiyat of Omar Khayyam?
Ever since the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, no week has passed in which the government has failed to issue warnings of a sequel. Sometimes its the director of the FBI, sometimes the attorney general or an unnamed source in the CIA or the Department of Homeland Security, but always its the same messagesuspect your neighbor and watch the sky, buy duct tape, avoid the Washington Monument, hide the children. Let too many freedoms wander around loose in the streets, and who knows when somebody will turn up with a bread knife or a bomb? Let too many citizens begin to ask impertinent questions about the shambles of the federal budget or the ill-conceived occupation of Iraq, and the government sends another law-enforcement officer to a microphone with another story about a missing nuclear bomb or a newly discovered nerve gas, another Arab seen driving a suspicious truck north to New Jersey or west to Oklahoma.
Notwithstanding its habitual incompetence, the government doesnt lightly relinquish the spoils of power seized under the pretexts of apocalypse. What the government grasps, the government seeks to keep and hold, and the National Lawyers Guild performs a necessary service by publishing its report on the American governments attempt to preserve the American democracy by destroying it. The deal is as shabby as the one offered to the luckless villagers of Vietnam. For the sake of a vindictive policemans dream of a tranquil suburb, the country stands to lose the constitutional right to its own name. -Lewis Lapham
LOLOL.......they can join with Harry Reid, he's outraged too!!!
