Wisconsin Justice Department officials said Attorney Peg Lautenschlager will soon meet with executives of credit card companies to urge them to review the legality of processing online, cigarette purchases.
Officials said other state attorneys general will also be involved in the meeting. Last month, Lautenschlager and forty two other attorneys general signed on to a letter to credit card company executives which warned them ''virtually all online tobacoo retailers engage in illegal sales.''

Well, I don't have the need for any major credit cards. I use a debit card. But if I did have a major credit card and they stopped any payment on me for something I purchased, I would be going to the Better Business Bureau, writing them a nasty letter and paying them off and tearing the card up. They can then kiss my arze!
And I believe that this is exactly how the government will enact taxation on Internet sales of all items! For the time being, it's prohibited by law, but there will come a time when the government will decide that they want a piece of the action...
And what better place to assess the taxes than at the point of payment! Maybe they could also asses a "small" financial transaction fee as well...
