The commander of Fatah's armed wing in Nablus said on Sunday that his group would continue to fight against Israel as long as the occupation exists and denied that his group was receiving financial aid from Hizbullah.
"So far there's nothing new and we won't halt the resistance as long as the occupation continues," said Ala Sanakrah, commander of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades in Nablus who is wanted by Israel for his involvement in terrorist attacks. "We haven't heard yet from any Palestinian party that Israel is prepared to withdraw and stop its aggression against our people," he added.
Sanakrah told the Ramallah-based Al-Hayat al-Jadeeda newspaper that he and his friends were nevertheless prepared to "100 percent" honor a truce with Israel "if Israel announces that it would refrain from raiding Palestinian cities and pursuing so-called ticking bombs."
"We were the first to initiate a hudna (cease-fire) as a gesture even before (Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas) Abu Mazen took over as chairman of the Palestinian Authority because we are not living on a different planet," he added. "The leadership of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades acts according to the interests of the Palestinian people and takes into consideration what they say."
Asked about Abbas's pledge at the Sharm e-Sheikh summit to end violence, Sanakrah said: "The occupation government describes the resistance as violence and thinks that they have defeated the intifada. But we say to (Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon that this is just the beginning of the intifada, not its end. The intifada and the resistance won't stop until the occupation ends."
Sanakrah's position contradicts that of other leaders of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades in the West Bank, who have declared that they would abide by the informal truce in any case. Sanakrah said those Fatah gunmen who had come out in favor of the truce were seeking only personal gains and didn't represent the Aksa Martyrs Brigades.
Sanakrah claimed that Israel had made it clear that it would never give up its right to pursue and kill 12 fugitives. "They said they won't give up and we say we won't give up our rifle," he said. He added that five of the fugitives were from Nablus, while the rest were from different parts of the West Bank.
Sanakrah said he believed that Israel would launch a military raid to kill all the fugitives even after it hands over security control of the West Bank cities to the PA.
"We are resistance fighters, not criminals and murderers," he said. "We are defending our rights and all we want is for the occupation to go away. We have no faith in the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority and we won't go to sleep in our homes until we get a written commitment from Israel that it will stop chasing us."
Sanakrah denied as "nonsense" allegations by the PA that he and his friends were receiving large sums of money from Hizbullah. He said he and many of his friends were forced to sell jewelry belonging to their mothers and wives to purchase weapons.
Just wait till they find out.

Those people don't want peace, and there is no way they are ever going to chase Israel out. God gave that land to them, and HE will run them out, in the end. :)
Turbanate them.
The truth must actually bother this one. Either that, or they are getting some bad press.

So much for "We don't negotiate with terrorists"...
