Deflecting the richly deserved resignation of Eason Jordan into a "lynch mob" got him story, is flatly false. Jordan had it coming, not just for this but for other instances of journalistic incompetence. See the link below for a demonstration that the Columbia Journalism Review, the oracle of the profession (such as it is), is deep into this kind of denial.

More than likely because CNN doesn't own the tape. The Davos event tapes are owned by someone else: the hosting organization.
