Freepers have reviewed the web sites in question and said it is impossible to determine if the person in the pictures is Gannon or not.

I have reviewed the web site in question and I am persuaded that the pictures are indeed Jeff Gannon. I should state here that I know Jeff Gannon, and have talked with him on numerous occasions. Suffice to say, I am stunned to find that this is how he spends his spare time.

On one hand, it's none of my business. But it's also true that Gannon was playing a pretty dumb and dangerous game. The more notoriety he got as a reporter, the more likely it was that somebody was going to "out" him, particularly since the vast majority of gays are flaming Democrats. He had to have known that "male prostitute" was not going to map happily onto "White House correspondent."

I'm sorry to see him go, because I thought he made some positive contributions. But this is a mess of his own making, and he needs to figure out how to deal with it. It sounds like that's what he's doing. I wish him luck.

The sad thing here is that Gannon may have tried to turn a new leaf, and put all that stuff behind him. Isn't it ironic that the one gu who was openly and passionately pro-Bush in the White house press corp also turned out to be the least likely of types to be pro-Bush?

Whatever he did though, the fact remains that the leftwingers are trying to destoy him personally now. He already quit his job, but it wasn't enough for them. Maybe they'll be happy when he kills himself, although they may try to go after his parents then just for spite. Who knows.

Well said.

My focus has been how the left has used this to make baseless charges that Gannon was a WH plant, was the source of the Plame "leak", and so on.

Nick, do you know anything about his involvement with the Plame affair (oops, bad choice of words)?

The lefty bloggers dissecting this story seem to think there's something there, and I fail to see it.

Anyway, I agree that this situation is of his own making, but I really wonder if the bloggers who are digging this crap up aren't leaving themselves open for some blowback (ekk! more back choices of words).

Someone earlier joked about a rumor that Gannon and Scott McClelland got "together". It isn't being treated as a rumor. Some comments on blogs I've read are treating it as fact. These people are complete filth.

How long has he been a "reporter"? How long have you known him??

I think he's a Liberal Plant!!! I have NOT heard a lot of screeching about him from the usual suspects, which makes me VERY suspicious!!

No conservative is involved with Gay Escorts.

Humm. Thanks for the comments. It doesn't make the behavior of the leftists any less despicable, but it does undermine Gannon.

In any case, the Democrats will gain nothing from this fiasco. What, they are persecuting someone for being a homosexual? How homophobic of them. It has no bearing on the press pass issue.
