I'm talking about the current organization Sons of the Confederacy...I was simply making an analogy where Dean spoke on the Confederate-flag person and the Al Sharpton slam on the number of blacks within Dean's Vermont Cabinet while governor.
I don't see how Strom's situation has anything to do with this.
Dean grew up spending endless time at his fiercely all white country club. He will self destruct with his endless hate mongering, if only due to the weight of his massive hypocrisy.

They block Estrada because he's a conservative Hispanic. Reid's first major issue he questions the intellgence of Justice Thomas. They lead an uprising against Condi Rice with Byrd taking the lead. Racist cartoons in the liberal papers greet her. Is Dean a racist? Well, he'd certainly be in the right party.
That comment is certainly one I'd intepret as racist BUT the problem is larger. He slams people in the service industry at the same time. Give him credit. Dean certainly knows how to reach out and offend everyone but his core.
That's an insanely racist thing to say, even in jest. Dean's a lily white Northeastern limosine liberal who still hasn't grasped that he ain't in Vermont any more. Using 'the help' as fodder for boorish punchlines will alienate a core part of the Democrats base.

Strom thurmond's family had a colored servant. Strom had relations with her when she was under age. They produced a daughter.
