We got our backsides handed to us in a very big way by them.Does this kind of, um... event lead to changes/improvements in Marine training?

I left that unit shortly after that. If I remember right the judges/score keepers rated our company at 93% KIA in the attack against the Gurkhas. Some of the mistakes that were made were; our base of fire was set up outside of the maximum effective range of fire of most of our weapons, the base of fire was setup about 100 meters away from their forward artillery observation position, our assault unit stormed up to the hilltop that the Gurkhas were defending to find out that they were not there, (they had set a reverse slope defense), and then there was something about a ring-knocker getting lost with our chow and water but that's another story.
I would have to think that would leave a bit of a black mark on a commanding officers performance report.
