My constant and recurring question is WHY these bad boys do not return to fight for their own country ???? I feel there is little doubt that the well trained Gurkhas serving in both UK and Indian Armies and those serving as 'private contractors' and security guards could whip the Mao boys hands down , and it wouldn't take long. When the recruiters from the UK Army show up Nepali mountain boys turn up in great numbers for the chance to compete for the selection process. Few are chosen.
It's about the vast salary and other long term benefits that they can expect from employ in these foreign Armies , money that makes it back home to the mountain villages of Nepal and keeps their families alive and well.
BUT...if the Maoists succeed and win this fight , what good will all the money be? Or all the tea in China for that matter . The Gurkhas homeland and home villages will be lost to years and years of deepest Maoist repression. They need to forget the wages and COME HOME and take up the fight to end the Maoist scourge in Nepal once and for all . If they do not, all will be lost...guaranteed

The Gurkhas do not need to be in Iraq , nor in Afghanistan , they do not need to be guarding office buildings and private homes in Hong Kong , nor the Sultan of Brunei . They do not need to be training in Belize or Hawaii. They are not crucial
for NATO . But they ARE crucial right now for Nepal. The Gurkha homeland could very well be the next Communist state
in this world if the tide is not turned and soon. UK and India
should imagine their resource of Gurkhas disappearing as the Maoist will never allow this recruitment. Imagine instead this holy terror of the kukri wielding commandos commanded by the Maoists ! Families of Gurkhas outside will be held hostage and the Gurkhas could be forced to do their bidding.
This is indeed Nepal Darkest Hour , it's best and most effective native sons are needed at home , now! Yesterday!
It behooves the UK and India to do everything to facilitate this for a time. The King of Nepal should put out the call:
" For King and Country all Gurkhas please Come Home! "
The need will not last forever , but the need is there urgently now . Very very urgent...not the time to dither and debate.

Many of the Maoists ARE Gurkhas -- they have no way to improve themselves in their own country so have to become mercenaries for the Brits or Indians.

Thank you very much for your suggestion but we are not that self centred we can solve our internal problem with our own royal nepalese army. we leave our rest of the brothers to keep world peaceful. (There are thousands nepalese fighting for peace all over the world. exp- Iraq, India, Congo, Burundi, Kosovo, East timor etc)
