Northwestern's Resident Terrorist - (Weathermen member, Professor Bernardine Dohrn)
FRONTPAGEMAGAZINE.COM ^ | FEBRUARY 16, 2005 | BRIAN HECHT

Although the controversy over University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill’s pro-terrorist ravings has captured national headlines recently, the flirtation between America’s institutions of higher learning and radical, left-wing activism is hardly a new phenomenon. U.S. colleges and universities are rife with Marxist holdouts like Churchill and other relics from the Sixties. And while many, like Churchill, have openly supported America’s terrorist enemies, a dubious few have actually held prominent positions in terrorist groups. One of the most notable examples of this disturbing phenomenon is Bernardine Dohrn, an Associate Professor and the Director of the Children and Family Justice Clinic at the Northwestern University Law School.

Sign on Ward Churchill's office at U. of Colorado.

Bernardine Dohrn, tellingly enough, helped set the tone for the Weathermen’s militant agenda. She was arrested for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest during an attempt to incite a riot during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago and even spent time on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List. In 1969, shortly after members of the Manson Family committed the brutal Tate/LaBianca murders, Dohrn, speaking before an audience of SDS members, exclaimed, “Dig it! Manson killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they shoved a fork into a victim's stomach.” Dohrn now claims to have made the remark in jest, “mocking violence in America.”[1] Her recent characterization, however, injects some irony to her tale, as the Weathermen did their level best to increase the amount of violence in America during their heyday.

Hello. Could you fix the headline? It should say "Northwestern", not "Northeastern." And the link doesn't go to Front Page Magazine; it goes to one of your posts on another thread. Thanks!

Meanwhile, south of Evanston, Bill Ayers, another Weather Underground alumnus, is (or was in 2001) a professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago).

Although, that might be incorrect, my memory is telling me it was the University of Chicago. Anyway, since they're leftists "for the people," it should be okay for them to be professors.

Her politics stunk, but BD sure was a looker in those days. I think Timothy leary once commented on her nice endowment.

Why does not the sign of Churchill's office say "Defend the rights of everyone?" Why are some groups more deserving of having their rights defended?

Heck I went to Northeastern in the late 60s early 70s and we didn't even have a respectable chapter of the SDS. Glad to hear it's really Northwestern!

He's at the University of IL at Chicago (UIC- College of Education).

Apologies for the error in the title. You're right. It should be Northwestern. Thanks for the correction.

It is really remarkable how ill-informed and blind Americans have become!

Where is Angela Davis these days?? (google it friends!)

And who runs MeCha-Aztlan "America's Palestinians"??? (Yep! They are teaching your children!)

And what happened to American men?? It seems that the most fearless Patriots (under the age of 70..) are American women!

RESEARCH folks! RESEARCH!

I believe that more moderate or less radical (take your pick) members of the SDS who opposed terrorism said about the Weathermen: "You don't need a protologist to know who the a$$holes are."

The first Sunday after 9/11, the front page of the Sunday NYT had a curious notice about the contents of their Sunday magazine included with the paper. Something to the effect that the contents were controversial in light of recent events, but they decided to distribute the magazine anyway. It turns out that the magazine had a glowing interview with Bill Ayers, who was starting a book tour. I guess the NYT considers Ayers a "good" terrorist, and the timing be damned!

At the same time, Barnes& Noble was hosting book signings for Ayers in many of their stores. I sent an e-mail to B&N, objecting to the them sponsoring a terrorist. The response I got was not at all conciliatory - they knew best, and after all, shouldn't we listen to the other side of the story.

"BD was a looker in those days"
Yep,I saw her in Berkeley in May,1969,wearing this tight knit sweater and yelloe mini-skirt.She looked like a go-go dancer!
Not too many of the guys were focusing on the dialectic during her speech!

One thing that STILL irks me about the New Left-and I knew a few of them back in the day-was that they kept telling us to leave school and join"the working class"
Yet virtually NONE of THEM ever did,and went on to quite respectable, not to mention lucrative careers in law, academia and public interest groups!
Another irony-some of the most"anti-racist"are the ones living in the whitest of suburbia.

The Weird Ward Churchills of the world are so infested with hate for this country that they are able to compare it to Poland under Nazi control. If the Muslims in America were treated like the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto they would all be dead instead of enjoying their freedom in America.Only an idiot or mentally challenged person could call America an evil country.Liberals must not remember that the ideas of freedom and liberty are American ideas that their fellow jihadi's despise.
