PLANTING A SEED (Applying to fill Jeff Gannon's White House beat)
Hartford Courant ^ | Feb 16 05 | Jim Shea

Posted on 02/16/2005 1:15:26 PM PST by churchillbuff

Dear Mr. McClellan:

I am writing you in regard to the now-vacant position of White House press corps plant.

It is my understanding that your previous press corps plant, James D. Guckert - to whom you issued White House press credentials under the name Jeff Gannon - is no longer with the administration.

...If my name seems at all familiar, it is probably because I have written to you in the past hoping to secure a contract writing pro-administration columns.

Sorry... I stopped reading The Courant years ago. It's nothing but an extension of the states Democrat Party.

Trash.

I guess anyone to the right of Helen Thomas qualifies as a "plant".  Just goes to show how far askew the mind has to go in order to make sense of the liberal point of view.

James D. Guckert - to whom you issued White House press credentials under the name Jeff Gannon

I guess none of the other press corps uses pen names, (David Gregory) so you certainly have him there.

Fine, you've taken out a low level C jounalist, but you've also lowered the bar incredibly.  There's a lot more targets on your side than there are on ours, and you people are a lot more prone to shameful behavior, so let the games begin.

Actually, I believe it endorsed George W. Bush twice.

This guy once wrote a funny column about buying jeans...so I read him every once in a while with the hope that he might write something funny again...to no avail...and this one's the most un-funniest.

Ya shoulda stopped writing at the height of your funny jean-buying article, Jim. Puke.

Evaluating something by its source is dismissive of something one does not like. As it happens, I remember reading the editorials that endorsed Bush, twice. If my word does not do the trick...here is a link: http://www.hartfordadvocate.com/gbase/News/content?oid=oid:87362
However, this says nothing at all about the Gannon issue, but at least we can move to that discussion if anyone is interested.

It mentions it in the article itself: Although my newspaper has editorially endorsed President Bush for re-election, it is otherwise a mainstream media operation, and not linked to the Texas Republican Party.

These people are like a dog with a bone; a very small bone.
It's all they have, petty, unimportant, cheap shots.

It's time, then, to get rid of the DNC plants in the WH Press Corpse -- Lord knows there are plenty of them.

Possibly the name GOPUSA confuses these people, because it sounds as if it were a branch of the Republican party. In fact I assumed that myself.

But if you are a newspaper reporter you are expected to investigate such matters, and perhaps telephone someone at GOPUSA to ask them. Very shoddy reporting. But typical.

As for this article, the phrase "press corps plant" is enough to show that this man is an idiot, especially writing at this late date when most of the facts are out there for people to see.
