SOMETIMES, late at night, little Samantha Rodriguez cries in her bed.

The 3-year-old's skin cracks and burns from the eczema that has plagued her since birth. And her weak, small lungs wheeze and cough from chronic asthma.

Her mom, Regina Rodriguez, just holds onto her daughter, helplessly. Regina, 25, is three months pregnant now with her second child.

And what her growing family needs more desperately than anything, she knows, is fresh air. Perhaps a dash of sunshine on their faces.

But living in the South Bronx, bunched up amid a bus stop, factories and the malodorous traffic of the . . .

If she wants to leave, she can get her ass on a buss.

This is just liberal whining. She wants it to get all better without having to exert herself.

I have asthma, but many times what I DON'T need is fresh air. There are many problems with it as well.At least here in Okie country where the wind is always blowing in something.

I wish her best of luck. It is hard dealing with asthma/allergies anywhere. Living in NY would be VERY tough!!

She could easily jump a bus to any "old suburb" or urban area in NJ, and find a job, apartment, sign up for free healthcare for her children, free prenatal care, workfare, and be on her feet in a matter of weeks. Thousands in her position do it every year.

And yes, even old burbs and urban areas in NJ are healthier than the South Bronx.

It looks like she has cure. Read this:

A decade ago, Regina did go to live with her aunt in California. And like a miracle, she told me, the asthma that has plagued her, too, since birth cleared up entirely.

But she got homesick for her family, and returned six years ago.

I'm sure, however, she would prefer that the rest of us pay for her move.

FWIW, I'd also like to live closer to my family. The gubmint should find me a job there and pay for my move, too.

So, she chose to leave the place where she & her family were healthy & returned to the place that made them sick...and we are supposed to feel sorry for her? She is an idiot & a whiner.

Sounds like a move is in order. I've had many customers come in for herbal remedies and they go 'wow I didn't think about that' when I ask if they recently moved. Another thing is that apartments have crappy air, and the filters in most hvac systems are filled with roach crap/rat crap/etc. even if the apartment is clean. Let's not talk about food allergies like dairy products, etc.

Sounds to me that she is putting her family about that of her child that she cries about. Also sounds like she wants her child to be a poster child for clean air. BARF!

"She and her new baby's father, Daniel Vega, a tape-room technician, are saving their money to escape from the city and move to North Carolina, where Daniel has family. "

In case anyone is confused, the above is MSM doublespeak for the fact that the woman is not married and the child was conceived out of wedlock. My advice to her is to stop getting pregnant and get your butt on a bus and move. Whining to the NY Post will get you no sympathy from this quarter.
