Tennessee man charged with seeking sex with girl

A Tennessee man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly arranging to have sex with a young girl in Gwinnett County.
FBI agents and Gwinnett sheriff's deputies arrested Chris J. Becker, 52, near the Mall of Georgia on charges involving interstate travel for the purpose of having sexual contact with a minor, according to FBI Special Agent Steve Lazarus.
Lazarus said Becker, a credit union vice president from Franklin, Tenn., had Internet conversations with someone he thought was the parent of a 9-year-old girl, but who was in fact an undcover agent with the FBI's Safe Child Task Force. Authorities said he made plans to meet the girl and her parent in Gwinnett.
Becker was arrested as he approached what he thought would be the meeting spot, Lazarus said.
After his arrest, agents discovered that Becker had checked into a nearby motel, and a search of his room led to the discovery of various toys and sex-related materials that Lazarus said were designed to entice and abuse Becker's would-be victim.
Becker was being held in the Doraville jail, awaiting an initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate on Thursday.

You know, if I had a carrer in law enforcement, this would have to be it. I can't imagine the horrors that they must see, but the satisfaction in seeing the looks on these freaks faces when you bust them would have to be like crack.

There is no need for anything that would even hint of an entrapment.
These dumb SOB's will bring the trap, set it, and then stick their own, er, uh, hand in it, so to speak.
They will fly or drive hundreds of miles to meet with the child, once they get the idea in their mind.
They are not the brightest people in the world.

The DUers were actually discussing this the other day. Apparently, it's a big worry for them.
Entrapment is pretty hard to use as a defense if the perp is the one suggesting the meeting.
