According to the article, its a measurement error, and not really missing.

Oh I'm sure it will turn up eventually. Hopefully not in the form of a mushroom cloud.

"The authority said the loss was "within international standards of expected measurement accuracies for closing a nuclear material balance at the type of facility concerned."
"There is no evidence to suggest that any of the apparent losses reported were real losses of nuclear material," it added."
Did Drudge read the article? I don`t see the big story here.

Now if they reported a 30 Kilo "chuck" was missing I'd be more concerned.

If we ever find the thousands of missing socks perhaps there'll be a pile of plutonium next to them all.

30 Kilos = 66 Lbs
Isn't that a lot to "Miss-calculate"

Not when you're talking about plutonium. It doesn't take much to make 66 lbs. If I calculate right, it's a little over a liter and a half.

Formerly known as Windscale - but that got a bad name so they changed it.
They had a try at changing the name again to Thorp or something, but it didn't work.
