I've wondered if a man who was once a woman has ever married a woman who was once a man.

Ouch! It hurts trying to imagine that. Would it be a legitimate marriage?

I believe I heard of such a case when I was in an abnormal psychology class 10 years agos (bet they don't call it that anymore, or no longer inclede transgender) Suprisingly a large number transgender people are homosexeual when the get through their surgery.
Other people must have wondered this too. The Republican Party of Texas platform (2004) had to make it clear that the Party supports marriage as a "God-ordained, legal and moral commitment only between a natural[-born] man an a natural[-born] woman."
