People who make a living playing roles don't have too much spine of their own.
People who make a living copying other people's behavior don't have too much spine of their own.
People who make a living studying their own image in a camera or in in mirror or on stage don't have too much spine of their own.
They will follow a crowd anywhere. No matter what the crowd is doing, they will follow the crowd.
That is our modern entertainment industry. The entertainment industry includes a new breed of actors----TV News readers. Check any newscast being =broadcast on a channel from anywhere--local or national.
No spine, just following the crowd.

The best example of this mindset is a minute of Bush-Bashing Crap from the mouth of a third rate ( and I am being kind) TV actor by the name of Chris Noth. He has been on "Law and Order and Sex in the City as a Regular"
The gist of what he was spewing out was this:
"Anyone who buys into the Republican Bush line must be stupid".
This Turd for Brains must have been auditioning for another one of his usual Schlock roles. He could barely remember those lines without a cue card under his chin. With any luck he will land the role he was born to play, Barbara Streisand's Lawn Jockey.
