I'm not impressed.
And nobody is surprised that you are not impressed. It's so old, man. Why don't you give it a rest already? If JPII walked on water and raised a couple of dead folks, you would find something to complain about. On a thread that rightly praises his good actions, just give it a rest, for everyone else's sake. Criticizing him on other, more appropriate, threads.
Sheesh!

Honestly, those who point out that this Pope has been sub par are totally not represented compared to the sycophants who think that "Jesus loves you!" is some new revelation when JPII says it.
This praise for mediocrity at best and blindness towards scandal is what seriously needs a rest. It's syrupy and foolish.

No fear of this pope's ever walking on water. No one can achieve great sanctity who doesn't fulfill the primary duty of his station in life. In this case, it was the Pope's primary duty to protect the deposit of faith. He didn't do this. Instead the faith has diminished markably during his pontificate. I'm not surprised mentioning this would annoy his many fans who confuse celebrity with sanctity. It's the truth, however.
