HUNDREDS of people have been evacuated from a shopping centre in Melbourne after the discovery of a suspect package.
A police special operations group is travelling to the Knox City Shopping Centre in Melbourne's outer east, where the package was found just after 10.30 this morning.
A police spokeswoman refused to describe the package, but said it was found on level one of the shopping centre.
She said that section of the shopping centre had been evacuated.

Bomb scares aren't that uncommon. Evacuations on the scale of this one as a result are fairly unusual.

Thanks for the ping.
Appears that they will now test Australia with empty
suitcases, as they did here last summer.
