Well, good for him I guess.

I hope Korn keeps on making kick-ass music. They're pretty good.

Certainly he should.. in light of verse 15:

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

The long hair IS the covering. So how long is long?

Only if he's given up the sauce.

So a woman that cuts her hair is an abomination?

I know he is but all the interviews I have seen or read are him distancing himself from the "Christian" label. I loved Creed's music and like Alter Bridge (Creed without Stapp). In my experience, Stapp was always "I am spiritual but im not a Christian songwriter...". WHat is so wrong with being a Christian songwriter to Scott? Could it be he thinks record sales would flatten out if he were labeled "Christian Rock Band"?

I like Stapp's music, I just wish he would acknowledge the huge pink elephant in the room...

If you've never listened to Kerry Livgren, his stuff is just amazing. Even 22 years later it holds up very well. Second Chapter of Acts was also a favorite. Matthew Ward of 2nd Ch. put out at least one solo album,"ToWard Eternity" (yes he was punning his own name!)which had a couple of decent cuts on it.

Larry Norman is an "oldie' who comes to mind - "Stranger in a Strange Land" was considered his definitive album, but he also had many others. A protege that Larry "discovered" is Randy Stonehill, another great songwriter/singer and pretty fair guitar player, one of his best known songs is "Shut de Do', Keep Out de Debbil"...

For more awesome guitar playing talent, Phil Keaggy is recommended. "Master and Musician" is an Olllllld album, (originally recorded in 1978) but good work is good work!

Another oldie that is hard to find - "ArkAngel". Their first and I think only album came out in about '80 or '81, and redefined eclectic rock. Many of the group members were working in a band called 'RadioHalo' a few years back - leader of the band is Kemper Crabb...they put out at least one cd, entitled "Illumination"

Long ago and far away, there was a guy named Terry Taylor and a band called "Daniel Amos" who put out an album of C&W influenced rock and blues entitled "Shotgun Angel"; later on they came out with "Horrendous Disc", and then "Alarma", which were actually new wave/surf punk influenced. They shortened their name to "D.A.", (sort of like "The Resurrection Band" became "Rez") and put out cd's like "Kalhoun".

Guess that's enough digging in the oldies bin for now...

A.A.C.

Yep that was exactly the one; R.J. Dio also did "To Live for the King". Steve Walsh of Kansas sang on "How Can you Live", David Pack (former lead singer of Ambrosia) did vocals on "Ground Zero", and Jeff Pollard (ex vocalist for Leroux - known for their 70's power ballad,"New Orleans Lady") sang on "Just One Way".

Kansas had at various times toured with Ambrosia and with Leroux, which is how Livgren knew Pollard and Pack. Davey Moire did vocals on "Down to the Core", while Livgren himself (not usually a vocalist) dueted with Mylon Lefevre on "Whiskey Seed".

Korn is one of my favorite bands and I respect them... I actually met him and he was a very nice guy. I also believe there pretty conservative the main singer is a huge gun nut. Good for him... but he will be missed in the band

no it's not a joke and it's actually a pretty good album. My mother gained an appreciation for my like of Heavy Metal after that album came out and she could actually understand the lyrics.

there are a lot of Christian non-black/death metal bands that are really good. For starters, I recommend Mortification. Awesome Austrailian Band. Also, Living Sacrifice and Paramecium are good. Fearscape is an up-and-coming band. Check out Soundmass.com for more on these bands.

I've always wondered what is so wrong with NOT being one, and still being a christian. Why can't you do one or two gospel songs, and some about love, or something else? Music is a form of entertainment, like movies. Do you limit yourself to ONLY movies about God.

I'll check out these bands, thanks for the heads up. But when I say I like heavy, crushing, sick, disgusting riffs, and sick, brutal, cookie-monster vocals... I MEAN IT! Think Napalm Death and Cannibal Corpse, only, well... not evil.

haha thanks, I'll check these guys out!

I went and saw Korn in the Astro Arena in '98.
There was NO BEER SOLD.

I'm still mad at 'em.
