I am trying to figure out what motivates white people to condemn their own type? Very odd behavior. Certainly there is the "look how intellectual I am" component but there has to be more.
Much of it, I think, stems from the pure spoiledness of Americans in general. The inate belief that most Americans have that nothing really bad could ever happen to them, not personally but on a larger socio-political level. And a huge ignorance of history helps bring about that mindset.
Why else would you try to ferment and foster such hatred of your own kind? Especially in a world where the white man is so greatly outnumbered. It's friggin' suicidal, if you ask me.
In my opinion, it is done to make the speaker appear superior. I have noticed this sort of behavior since grammar school. It allows someone to claim to rise above his or her peers. For instance, an American who characterized our lack of readiness at Pearl Harbor...I've heard this provided as an example of how lazy/stupid/insert derogatory word here we were. It was generally practiced by people I felt were a bit self-righteous.

The Democratic party is full of self lothing whites like Churchill. It basically stems from guilt. They see the white man as the cause of all of the evil in the world. They beleive that in order to prove to minorities that they are not themselves racist, that they must first denouce their own race. I beleive that the term for this is "aracial".
