Not to say this is ok...but our sweet Terri has survived 7+ days without food and water...she should be able to make it through the weekend.

I hate that this could happen, but if it does...I will ping in my prayer list and Salvation probably will too. She will be covered!

Do yourself a favor and stick around. Many of us here know A LOT about what's happened over these years. We've spent many hours researching this case, writing, phoning, and praying about it. If you hang on for the ride, you will see that the MSM has for the most part, shown only one tiny part of a very big story. I wish they would stop doing it, and we try to correct them as much as possible. This case will make your head spin.

Excellent observations....TV, movies and media are subtly brainwashing us all the time. We work mighty hard in this house to point all bias, lies and agenda out to our kids so they become discerning adults.

I can't help but suspect that this 48-hour stay is nothing but self-serving on his part

I pray that you are wrong, but personally that's what I'm expecting. OTOH, this is what AP is reporting: "A judge Wednesday extended a stay keeping brain-damaged Terri Schiavo alive until Friday, saying he needed time to decide whether her husband, who wants to remove her feeding tube, is unfit to be her guardian."(emphasis mine)

Let's pray that the Lord is softening Greer's heart. Let's pray for Terri and her family. And let's get ready to hit the phones, faxes, e-mail... on Fri at 5:01 if needed!!!

>> I am STILL WAITING for The Governor to do his SIMPLE job and take CUSTODY of her under the care of the Disabled Statute. He has EVERY RIGHT and all the AUTHORITY he requires to do it today.<<

Is that true? What does FL law say about this?

Even if this didn't work, this judge has taken the law into his own hands by way of his own personal opinions. I pray someone will take the law into their own hands and rescue Teri from that hospital if Friday goes against her and her family.

I suspect that Michael Schiavo is receiving a very large sum of money to stay the course in insisting that Terri's feeding tube be removed. It is possible that he did cause her injuries and fears her rehabilitation. However, there are people of very great financial means and political and social influence who see this case as a "wedge" for euthanasia. If the influence of the Catholic Church and other pro-life forces can be defeated in what is essentially political combat, the pro-euthanasia victory can be used to further that agenda not only in Florida, but nationwide. The precedent may even be useful in Canada and other English-speaking countries, even historically Catholic Ireland.

Michael and Terri Schiavo, like Norma McCorvey and her aborted child in Texas 30 years ago, are pawns in a greater game of reducing the level of protection offered to helpless human life.

Whatever came of his threat to ignore the stay?

Some of our very own Freepers have had to ask for a different nurse, because he was on duty when they arrived! Scary, huh!

if Greer lifts the stay on Friday, the Supreme Court isn't in session until Monday.

I thought I heard in the video that there was not going to be a court hearing Friday - or, at least, that Greer wont give his decision in court but will submit it in written form?

doesn't bode well - BUT if the DCF is involved - we can pretty much be sure that they got a call from JEB (who would have done it quietly, like his brother, they do things for the right reason and not for self-promotion)- and they may be able to end run the judge

There's NO plug to pull! We've got to get rid of this misinformation one by one! Terri has a simple feeding tube! Thank you - I dismissed the notion of her being a "vegetable" earlier. No person is ever a vegetable - vegetables have no souls.

take pictures and better yet, use a video cam and tape the cops being abusive to the citizens. Even if you don't take pictures or video, call the city office and the police dept to complain about their behavior. You might also mention it to the news media. When you call, give your name and address so they know it is a formal complaint and be very polite. The good people of that city do not want their tax dollars to pay for police harrassment. I am a former police dispatcher. LOL

No matter what happens to Terri, her life, her suffering, her warriors, her message will haunt Michael Schiavo forever. He will never ever find peace on this earth or anywhere else, though he thought he "bought" it or had his life all figured out. Imagine the mocking, scorn and derision his children will experience as they grow older with his name, if they carry it.

His employers cannot be happy about this publicity for one of their employees. Maybe when he leaves his "nursing" post, he can run the Greek Isles Life Derichment Terminal for Felos.. on the island of Crete.

I don't see a way for him to escape lifelong retribution for his brutality if he stays in the area, whether at the hand of God or the knocks from life that come to a particularly heinous individual. Terri's money won't last him forever .. he's probably been writing the book he hopes to sell for years .. and looking for movie deal, portraying him as the victim, of course. But, unless some Hemlocker or Felos arranges employment for him, where does he go? His life and that of his poor innocent children is truly doomed, IMO.

>>Everyone needs to be fed to be kept alive.<<

Exactly. The difference is she is not able to feed herself. Last time I checked, neither can infants, but we would be murderers if we let an infant starve.

Well except you forgot the part about Mr. Shiavo being able to collect insurance money and flit off and marry a babe-in-waiting, which from his perspective I'm sure migates any harm to Teresa.

I too was heartened by his published reason for the stay (also to determine if Terri warrants more tests) but at the same time, Greer's been on the case long enough to know intimately the shenanigans that Michael has pulled over the years, and hasn't punished him once to this point, so color me skeptical.

Let's pray that the Lord is softening Greer's heart.

Amen, that'd be the only reason he'd reverse himself at this point I think.

See #200 for some answers. Some also say his new honey wants a Catholic wedding and they can't have one unless Terri dies. BTW, Michael said on Larry King that he had both his parents "allowed to die" in this same way he wants for Terri, because their lives weren't worth living! And he is a nurse.

I worked head trauma rehab for many years and after successful rehab, many patients were able to eat orally again and their tubes were removed.

there are testimonies y nurses and doctors that she CAN swallow and has taken food this way in the past - but the husband will not let them - even now to the point that he will not allow her to be tested again...it wouldn't fit the false "vegetative state" he's perpetuating.

He won't allow therapy or even, reports say, when she was ill with a cold, treatment for that - some time ago, she also had a urinary tract infection which could have killed her - and her would not, according to reports, allow treatment - not any dental treatment. (all around nice guy...)(
