Is 18 months insufficient? Seems like a good long time for a batter to last....

18 months isn't bad, except that you can't replace it yourself. You need to send it back in and it costs almost $200. That is ridiculous for a $400 device.

Have any of you been reading these posts. Several of us have posted sites where you can order a battery and REPLACE it yourself. You people must be microshaft brainwashed to believe all these lies about the ipod. None of this junk is true. As one other person stated it is about as hard as replacing a cordless phone batter and certainly easier than replacing RAM in a PC. Can you do that?

Even if you do decide to send it to Apple for a replacement, it's only $99 plus $6.95 S&H. Apparently, they send you a new iPod, because the process takes longer if your iPod was personalized by Apple.
