It's been a good year. Another one goes to hell. This man has so much blood on his hands, maybe he will keep his buddy arafat company.

The U.S. military has done far more to promote human rights in the last four years than Communisty International did in forty-four years.

Even the leader of 'Flim-flamnesty' International will have to meet The Maker one day. Yes folks, there is justice after life.

They did good work every now and then but sometimes would get so caught up in straining at gnats that they ignored the camels.

It's been a good year. Another one goes to hell. Agreed. Has anyone noticed how many of the leftists have died since Dubya was re-elected? We need to run Dubya again in 2008!

At first, the group was started "a one-year campaign for the release of six prisoners of conscience,"But then Berenson discovered that with donations and financial support from sympathetic foundations, patrons, organizations, and governments, he could make a darn good living and become a celebrity.

PJ O'Rouke had a classic line in one of his books about another lefty finding out if God exists or not. Can anyone recall it?

Say what you like about Amnesty International (I guess you all are in favor of political prisoners, torture chambers, and death camps), but you guys clearly know nothing whatsoever about Peter Benenson. He actually resigned from AI shortly after its founding, but his concern was only ever human rights.
He was not pro-Palestinian (he was descended from Russian Jews, for God's sake) - and AI itself has frequently been criticized for ignoring human rights abuses practised by Israel. As a boy, he raised $6000 among his school friends to bring two Jewish refugees from Hitler's Germany to England. He was not a communist - indeed, he worked as hard at freeing political prisoners in China, the Soviet Union, and Cuba as he did in South Africa, Pakistan, and Chile.
In addition to AI, he also founded Justice, an organization established to ensure that the rule of law is paramount. And he was a very religious man. He was a devout Catholic convert and worked closely with the Church on many of their missions.
You may disapprove of Amnesty International and some of their more recent campaigns (which would have had nothing to do with Benenson), but to condemn such a humanitarian out of sheer ignorance is disgraceful.
