I know we have an account and password, but I can't recall either one.
I'd like to read the rest of the article.
Chris Rock, (who I had NEVER heard of or seen before
last night) was a total disaster. His Bush bashing was
idiotic, yet typical, and of course, the smarmy audience
in attendance enjoyed it.
Does anyone really care about these Hollywood "events", or Hollywood in general anymore. Honestly, I don't know of a single person who gives a rat's ass about what goes on with these pampered elitists. The only people who seem at all interested about the goings on in Tinsletown are the actors themselves and the "journalists" who make their living investigating what brand of fabric softener a particular actor's maid uses. They are in their own little fantasy world.
I did watch the news clips this morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the women were actually dressed.
Were the Oscars last night?! 'Series'ly, I didn't even know!
Glad I missed it.
If Chris Rock was a good comedain .. he could be funny without saying the F word a dozen times in one sentence
I'll bet Johnny never gave Lincoln Nebraska a "shout out" as he said goodnight from da' DCP (or Dorothy Chandler Pavilion) either.
p.s. re: Rock's 'Bush bashing'. . .some reason Drudge does not go there? Or does he like to protect the home-town. . .
Dont' hardly ever agree with Shale's but I think he nails the problem with the Oscars in the final paragraph.
"There can't really be great Oscar shows, however, without great movies. The fault for this year's dry and dreary fiasco isn't Rock's or the windy speechmakers thanking half the population of North America. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in our motion pictures."
Bovine excrement.
Let me get this straight: It was fitting to save the best tribute for an egotistical has-been, but not give the best tribute to one of the greatest presidents in US history who was an equally renowned actor, as well. The fault is not only in the motion pictures, but also the stars. Neither the stars, nor the pictures, are worthy of greatness.
"Robin Williams was scheduled to perform a song ridiculing censorious fringe groups, but according to news reports the song was deemed so inflammatory, and was so heavily edited by ABC censors, that its authors refused to let it be performed. When Williams stepped onstage, he'd affixed a piece of white tape over his mouth to symbolize the censorship."
Oscar who? Is the "Odd Couple" re-running?
Since Johnny there have been nothing but NOTHINGS and that includes Crystal, Williams, Rock and the talentless single welfare mom.
