Turns out he worked with two of the victims and lived on the same street as a third. He also attended Wichita University, which they strongly suspected BTK had done.

I think "LE" is going to have alot of egg on their faces over this one.

Nowadays, we probably have computer programs that would have picked up on this 'coincidence' immediately. Rader would have been stopped fairly quickly, imo.

With the benefit of hindsight, it seems simple now to connect these dots. But they were dealing with literally thousands of potential suspects. Just an idea, anyway. I agree with you to a certain extent, though.

I read on Kansas.com that apparently some expert from Canada reviewed the BTK murders some time ago, and pointed at Dennis Rader as their guy......this is all second hand info but the poster seemed to be reliable....

police depts do a bad job of critiquing their work, though....
