Protesters to greet Bush at NJ town hall meeting on Social Security By DONNA DE LA CRUZ The Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Bush could be greeted by hundreds of protesters when he comes to New Jersey on Friday to hold a town hall meeting on Social Security.

Brad Woodhouse, a spokesman for Americans United to Protect Social Security, a coalition of more than 200 organizations formed at the urging of Democratic congressional leaders, said Tuesday that New Jersey will be the group's focus this week.

"This is where the president has decided to go and take his snake oil and try to sell it," Woodhouse said. "We want the president to know of the groundswell of opposition that exists to his plan to privatize Social Security."

Woodhouse said his group plans to join forces with several local organizations to bring hundreds of protesters to the Westfield, N.J., armory, where Bush is slated to have a town hall-style meeting to discuss his plan to create private accounts within Social Security.

Woodhouse said he hoped the protesters would be within shouting distance of Bush, who will face a friendlier crowd in the handpicked audience members inside the armory.

I'll be there in person. Of course, I will be part of the friendlier crowd inside the armory. But I look forward to wading through the losers outside. Nothing like witnessing the misery of the angry left to reassure me that we are on the right track.

I'm sure there will be a few bus-loads of seniors coming directly from their free lunch program so they can bitch about the President's proposal. If they were honest they'd have placards reading "Gimmmmeeee, Gimmmmmeeee, Gimmmmmeee!"

And where is the GOP?? Where is the RNC? They need to do the same and support our President by promoting PRO SOCIAL SECURITY crowds too!! We need to counter these protest bastards! If the Iraqis and Lebanese can conger up a crowd of thousands, why can we? Perhaps not thousands but hundreds?

I'm convinced these kind of people would come out in droves to protest apple pie if it were something GWB was promoting.

Thank you, media, for completely ignoring all the DEMOCRATS who were saying Social Security was in "crisis" 5 - 10 years ago.

They know it's broke and they want it fixed, all right...they just want to make damn sure it's not a Republican fixing it.

Leftists are the only people who think more money in private hands is a bad thing.

For all the people who supposedly have strong opinions about Social Security, I have yet to hear one of these Demos argue what is wrong with Bush's plan, or come up with some workable proposal.

im in NJ here..there are some of us patriots still around. It's tough though .NJ has had a family run government since the 20s. Where i am in Hudson County it' s disgusting. The Dem machine here would make Nero in Rome blush .The morons still elect the same old crap , time after time. It's all payoffs and jobs that get them in . Dems in NJ should be ashamed of themselves. I'm constantly in arguements around here with these sheep.
